Application concept • sector-specific integration
The completed model and reported TRL 5 relate to the underlying T-wire technology. This does not mean that every application described has been tested. Sector-specific integration is a further development step.
Power from a moving point
The T-wire trolley forms a power point moving along the cable. A tether connects it to the drone; the receiving device need not remain directly beneath the supply line.
Longer operation over an area
Continuous power may reduce landings for battery replacement or charging. Operating time also depends on weather, drone specifications, payload and operational procedures.
Observation, inspection and filming
Example tasks include wide-area observation, infrastructure inspection and filming. Design considers tether management, movement limits and backup power.
What the pilot should verify
Tether mass and length, drone power, wind, safe separation and loss-of-power behaviour.
Scope, target parameters and acceptance criteria are agreed for a specific installation before testing.
